Landing pages are very popular and can be a substitute for the front page of your blog. Typically the intent of the design is to solicit an action. Characteristics of a good landing page include the following.

1. visitors get the point by scanning the page
2. visitors understand what you are offering
3. contains a call to action
4. shows benefits instead of listing features

Notes

The landing page template does not display the site header, menu, page title, or sidebar. The only identifying tag displayed is the site footer. If a landing page will be used as the site front page, it is important to add all necessary links in order to give a visitor the ability to view your content.
